West End Festival celebrates the arrival of summer

If you find yourself in Glasgow in June, do not miss the West End Festival. Counting more than 400 shows everywhere across the city, it is an eagerly anticipated event.

The West End is a popular area in Glasgow's University district. What was at first a small local event has become over a few years the biggest cultural one in the city. Byres Road now welcomes the second largest parade in the United Kingdom, only bested by London's Notting Hill Carnival.
Concerts, outdoor theatre plays, film screenings and also markets, guided city tours, workshops for children and street animations attract thousands of visitors each year. Cafés, bars and restaurants do their best to offer a variety of local drinks and dishes. There is something for everyone. It is party time in Glasgow!
