The district of Old Lyon, with its cobbled streets, old buildings and famous narrow passageways, is full of charm. And the many Lyon bouchons you come across add a lot to the atmosphere. Among them, Chez Chabert, on the banks of the Saône, is an address not to be missed. Before you enter, take a look at the slopes of the Croix-Rousse: it will be a good idea to take a walk after lunch.
Inside, the vaulted ceiling, busy decoration, wooden tables and chairs add to the warm and authentic atmosphere of Chez Chabert. There, as in any self-respecting bouchon, you will discover the specialties of Lyon: the andouillette, pike quenelles or the famous “canute brains” (not to worry, it is just a cheese-based dip!). To respect the tradition of the bouchon, accompany your meal with a glass of wine. Choose the Saint Joseph, a typical wine of the region, produced by an independent winemaker.
