L'Auberge Basque, preserved natural setting

Close to Biarritz and Saint-Jean-de-Luz, L'Auberge Basque welcomes you like an old friend, with an atmosphere conducive to letting go.

This ancient Basque edifice, formerly a family guest house, was modernised a few years back by the talented chef Cedric Béchade, who settled here after many years in the kitchens of Alain Ducasse at the Plaza Athénée in Paris.

The views of the mountains and the Rhune are spectacular. Inside and out, the decor subtly blends modernity and Basque tradition. It's a perfect showcase of contemporary Basque style: on the town side of the building, the façade is traditional, while large windows now provide panoramic views on the mountainside.

In the rooms, the floors are original, beds comfortable, colours soft, and showers ecological. The tailor-made breakfast menu is composed of Basque specialities made by local artisans. The gourmet restaurant also focuses on local and seasonal produce.
